The Animation Block Valentine’s Day Showcase kicked off the romance last night at the Troubadour in West Hollywood with a vibrant, twisted evening in the key of love. The event was hosted by Animation Block founder Casey Safron and featured shorts from Nickelodeon, Six Point Harness and the LoopdeLoop animation challenge. The evening’s showcase played a sampling of animations shown during the New York festival which holds the honor of being biggest animation festival on the East Coast with an attendance of over 4,500 people. The night’s music was headlined by San Francisco-based Blackbird Blackbird with an opening act by Colleen Green.

Guests were also treated to a look at the mtv(other) series “Baby”. Other shorts that played include Carl Faruolo’s “Bug Salad”, Travis Braun’s “Charlie & Mr. Two”, and content from “Cat Agent” and “Dick Figures.”
