Scotland Barr & The Slow Drags – All The Great Aviators Agree – Review

If you like some country twang with your eggs and tang in the morning, this is for you. If you like Bob Dylan, then this is also for you. Scotland Barr’s voice is very noticeably similar to Mr. Dylan’s with a subtle scratchy tone to it. They also have a huge set of balls. The first song titled “Fall Hard” starts with the lyrics “Now trees are meant for hanging.” The song turns out to be about love, but being a southern country bluegrass style of music I can’t help but see strange overtones of racism in that statement. Even if its not, which it probably isn’t, there’s bound to be more people who think the same, so way to be daring guys! One good thing about this group is The Slow Drags. The Slow Drags add great harmonies and put in their musical inputs with instruments ranging from keyboards, accordions, theramin’s, and even some saxophone to go on top of all the guitar work going on. The Slow Drags keep the songs as tight as a virgin, and when they are given the opportunity to shine they bust that cherry with a well placed guitar solo by their head shred man Zach Hinkelman. So get yer boots and rip some toots in the morning with Scotland Barr & The Slow Drags. Especially the toot ripping part, your co-workers will thank you.
