The AFI Film Festival 2009 is returning to Hollywood Oct 30-Nov. 7th with a selection of fantastic programs and films. Highly anticipated titles like THE ROAD and Heath Ledger’s last film to be shot before his death THE IMAGINARIUM OF DR. PARNASSUS are being screened here first before their theatrical releases, as well a variety of shorts and fantastic not-to-be-seen anywhere else movies you may never have the opportunity to catch ever again. Other events worth dropping in to catch are the always popular AFI Digifest, this year’s twist on a will-work-for-food concept Lunchfilms– where directors are challenged to repay their meal out by making a film for the same price as their bill, and for those that find themselves all dressed up with nothing to watch on the 31st there is also a special Halloween film screening.
In a bold gesture that is particularly appreciated now more than ever, this year tickets are being offered free to the public to most screenings, including evening red carpet galas. Wow! Hurry though, tickets get snatched up quickly so get them while you can! For festival information and screenings, as well as to reserve tickets, go to afi.com .
