Spooky Skiba and pals return with their latest release, “Blood, Hair, and Eyeballs,” delivering more of the same: fierce drumming, relentless basslines, frenetic warbling, and a solid pun in Hot for Preacher, the opening track. I was worried that his time Blinkin’ would change up the Alk3 formula. Turns out, there was nothing to worry about.
“Blood, Hair, and Eyeballs” continues to use the same ol’ Alk3 playbook: macabre lyrics about romance and death, guitar riffs just ready for Guitar Hero 40 or whatever they are on now, and (surprising no one) a cover with black and white and red all over. Some bands take sharp musical turns between albums that can piss off the fanbase. Alk3 continue doing what they do and I am absolutely here for it.
