Title Fight
Spring Songs EP
Revelation Records
10/10
Title Fight are back with a new EP being released via their new home, the iconic Revelation Records. Spring S0ngs is a follow up to their 2012 full length record, Floral Green, released on Side One Dummy Records and follows in the sound that the band has crafted over their last two releases. Reminding you not only of why you fell in love with the band in the first place but why they’ve become a prominent name in the scene.
Although the release is a bit short, being only 4 songs and clocking in at just under 15 minutes, it’s still an incredible mark in the band’s discography. The EP displays the band’s musical prowess to their fullest but with only 4 tracks and no room for filler should we have expected anything less? Perhaps one of bigger factors in why Spring Songs is such a solid release is the fact that the band chose to once again work with Will Yip, producer of Floral Green. The two work rather well together and I personally wouldn’t mind seeing them collaborate a 3rd time in the near future. Hopefully that will happen on their Revelation debut full length.
I’m a bit disappointed that the band didn’t take the time to perhaps craft these 4 songs into a full album being that I’m not one for appetizers and would rather wait a bit longer for a full meal. However, if this what we can expect from an upcoming record then I can’t wait to see what the band has in store next year. Until then pick up Spring Songs and enjoy this tasty morsel until the band delivers a full album sometime in 2014.
