The Copyrights – New Ghosts EP Review

The Copyrights are back with New Ghosts, a punchy, no-frills EP that delivers exactly what you’d expect—more of the same catchy, full-steam-ahead jams they’ve been cranking out for years. And you know what? That’s a great thing. While some bands chase new sounds and genres, The Copyrights have always known what they do best, and continue to kick out the jams, motherfucker.

This isn’t an EP that’s going to reinvent the wheel, but when has that ever been the point with these guys? It’s fun, fast, and full of energy, perfect for those quick listens in between Teams calls for all the aging punks in IT. But, let’s face it, this release just adds a few more bangers to their already stacked set lists for future Fest/Riot Fest/Punk Rock Bowling shows.

No one is asking the fucking Copyrights for experimental ballads or melodic grindcore records, we just want more Copyrights songs—and New Ghosts delivers just that. So, thanks for the sweet riffs and sing-along fodder, guys.

If you’re a fan, you’ll feel right at home. If you’re new to The Copyrights, this EP is as good a place to start as any.
