Tattooed Steel – Fashion

linda-in-storedifferent-pixels-085.jpgGod, why does good fashion have to fall under the trap of bad branding? Tattooed Steel makes lazer-etched art on steel jewelry, including money clips, dog tags and bracelets. Featuring art from a variety of artists, Tattooed Steel has everything from Joe Strummer etched on a bracelet to naked hula chicks on dog tags. Honestly, a lot of the art is really badass, though I have problems wearing something called Tattooed Steel. It sounds like a UFC fight presented by Affliction Clothing. Oh, and that is not a good thing. People who spend over $100 on a shirt that is meant to look used and vintage are not people I associate with.

“A UFC fight presented by Affliction Clothing.” HAHAHA. Yes! The weird, shiny, Affliction shirts scare the shit out of me, for the record.

The Tattooeed Steel products look pretty rad in the photos and I think you agree the art is “badass” but I am not sure what Affliction t-shirts have to do with it????
    Confused out in Covina……

The artwork is badass!!!! Especially the new stuff.

I just got one of their rings, FaraKat, and it is amazinggggggg.

Maybe the name and the logo are not so great (definitely not UFC) but their branding is killer! After looking at their site, it looks nothingggggg at all like Affliction. I’ve seen worse names than Tattooed Steel, why don’t you go Zazzle something!?

Uhh, is Zazzling something perverted? If it is, I don’t wanna do it. Site Schmite. I am just saying I have a distaste for the name, though I admit, the art is the shit.

haha!! just google “zazzle”… it’s not anything perverted, i promise.

i am not completely convinced on the name either… what do you think it should be called though?!

The name Tattooed Steel was derived around the premise of a Permanent mark (artwork) into stainless steel, not associated with just Tattoo’s and tattoo inspired imagery. Tattooed Steel filed for its first patent in 2003, two years before Affliction came to market. Thanks for the comment on the Badass artwork!

Just picked up a few more pieces after getting some cuffs a few months ago for Christmas presents for myself and others. I have to say the quality is stellar and I get so many compliments on everything. I am now the proud owner of 4 tags, 2 rings, and 2 cuffs. Heard you guys were featured on a VH1 show! Congrats…keep them coming!

And I think the name is perfect. I heard it once and never forgot it.
